There is a new app for mobile phone users to buy tickets which can be read from the phone by the ticket machine on the bus.  The new app is called Click it 2 ride.

A number of improvements have been made at Regent’s Circus, Swindon with a new bus lane and stops and new bus shelters.  This is a vast improvement.

If you use the X5 to Salisbury, there is an art installation of paper doves that has been erected in the cathedral.  The display is part of a number of measures to encourage people to return to Salisbury to shop and visit.

A new MOT has come into force with effect from Sunday 20th May.  The new measures are in place to try to remove more polluting older diesel vehicles from the roads.  Running lights and reversing lights will now also be included in the test.  There will be new test certificate and new codes of Dangerous, Major, Minor and Advisory.  The fine for not having an MOT will go up to £1000.

At last the roadworks on Junction 16 of the M4 have been finished.  However, Highways England are now going to start work on the east bound sliproad.  This will mean overnight closures, 8pm-6am from Monday 21st May to early July.

There will be no train services from Swindon over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend 26-27-28 May.  All trains will be replaced by buses but National Express Coaches are planning on putting on extra buses from Swindon to London.

The A419 from J15 of the M4 will be closed overnight on 24th and 29th May between 8pm and 6am.  There are other closures of stretches of the A419 planned over a number of weekends.
