The EGPA committee reviewed the results so far of the proposed skate park survey that was launched in March, to see if there was a local appetite for a skate park for kids, and whether a portion of the grassed area at Castle View Road would be a suitable location.
The results were polarised with a sizable percentage who did not want a skate park built on Castle View Road green and another sizable percentage who gave their support at this fact-finding stage.
The committee discussed the results overall and concluded at this stage to not proceed with further investigation and grant funding applications for a scheme at Castle View Road. Alternative locations are limited but in time we hope to be able to further work on youth provision in the community.
The committee thanks everyone who provided their feedback to the survey. There is no need to complete the survey if you haven’t already as there will be no further decisions made at this time.
