PUBLIC NOTICE – SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL
SECTION 14 – THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice Of Temporary Road Closures In Highworth, Blunsdon, Badbury And Bishopstone, Swindon
This Order is being introduced to enable essential carriageway surfacing maintenance along key routes of North-East Swindon and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on the following roads:
B4000 Shrivenham Road and Highworth Road between B4019 and borough boundary – traffic to be diverted via Shrivenham (Highworth Road, High Street and Longcot Road), Watchfield (Majors Road and A420 and , B4508
B4019 between Blunsdon and Stanton Fitzwarren, traffic to be diverted via A419, and A361 Highworth Road
B4019 at Eastrop, Highworth, traffic to be diverted via B4019, B4000 Shrivenham Road and Highworth Road, A420 from Shrivenham, through Watchfield and Great Coxwell, Coxwell Road and B4019 Highworth Road to Coleshill.
Badbury Lane from Berricot Lane and M4 bridge, traffic to be diverted via Medbourne Lane, B4192 Purley Road, Commonhead Roundabout, A419 Marlborough Road to Junction 15 Roundabout and A346 Marlborough Road, Chiseldon
Badbury Lane between A346 Marlborough Road and the un-named road from Badbury to The Ridgeway, traffic will be diverted via A346 Marlborough Road, The Ridgeway and the un-named road off the Ridgeway to Badbury.
Icknield Way, Bishopstone between West End Lane and Oxon Place and at Nell Hill, traffic to be diverted via New Town Lane, the un-named road from Bishopstone towards Bourton, at the junction turn right on the un-named road to Hinton Parva.
The Order will come into force on the 19 April 2021 for 18 months but works are to be phased, advance notice of the closures to be given on site. Access to be maintained for residents.
