From Swindon Borough Council

We are writing to inform you about the upcoming Voter ID election pilot which aims to reduce electoral fraud.

Swindon residents who vote at a polling station will be required to present a form of ID before voting in the local elections on 3 May. For Swindon residents voting at a polling station, the best and most convenient form of ID is the poll card which will be sent to all voters who are registered to vote at a Swindon polling station in April. Each poll card contains a barcode that is unique to the individual and will be scanned at the polling station before a vote is placed. Other forms of ID are also accepted, please see our website for further details about the pilot and a full list of accepted ID: www.swindon.gov.uk/VoterID.
