Go South Coast bus company (branded as Salisbury Reds) will be operating a commercial service from September that basically replaces the existing route. Students will buy fares on the bus or a termly pass from their dedicated ticket website. A morning only school specific route will be called the 680, but will become the standard X5 public service from Marlborough south. In the afternoon, Salisbury Reds will divert their X5 north service to include Chiseldon.

Parents (and the school) no longer need to organise an alternative, students have a maintained route into school in the mornings and St John’s isn’t liable for any payments making up the difference between fares received and quoted prices. Go South will operate the route for a year initially with a review of viability at the end of the academic year.
