A scheme to improve safety in New Road, as well as reinforcing the speed limit, is up for final approval by Swindon Borough Council (SBC).
If successful there will be a “build-out” near to the entrance of Canney Close which will form a barrier similar to the scheme in operation at South Marston – which is reputed to work very well.
Residents who have concerns about HGVs and school buses passing the build-out should rest easy as sufficient room will be allowed.
We do not have an exact date for the SBC meeting that will consider the Scheme but it should not take too long.
