There are several things happening over the summer, which I wanted to list for you.  If you’ve used the Path recently, you may have noticed several surface improvements that Sustrans have made.  There is no better time to enjoy using the Path!

Cycling

Thursday, May 19        A ride out to Ogbourne St George and back, leaving at 6pm from the Croft Sports Centre in Marlborough Lane, Swindon.  Please use the booking link to let us know if you would like to come.

Wednesday, June 1       A second ride to Ogbourne St George using a slightly different route, leaving at 6pm from Coate Water.  Please use the booking link to let us know if you would like to come.

Sunday, 5 June          The Castles Bike Ride (in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support) uses several route of different lengths which include sections of the Path.

(More widely, the http://www.goskyride.com/ website has a searchable database of organised social group rides that you might be interested in.  They cater for a wide range of preferences, including women-only groups.)

Nature

Sunday, 24 July         Butterflies.  A visit to our chalk grassland to look at the flora and fauna (butterflies and moths).  Meet at 11am at the access road to Whitefield Farm, north of Ogbourne St George.

August                  Bats.  On a date that I haven’t yet fixed, a weekday evening walk from Coate Water.

Equestrian

Saturday13/Sunday 14 August     Barbury Castle Endurance ride, using sections of the Path.

Workdays

Sunday, 22 May  A maintenance workday, from 10am.  Details to come separately.
