5 of us spent a day in the cutting at Whitetfield Farm yesterday, grubbing out brambles and blackthorn from the chalk bank. This was the first workday we’ve had for about 2 years, and we haven’t done anything on the chalk bank since the autumn of 2019, so it was beginning to get quite overgrown again. We removed a large pile of prickly shrub, accompanied for most of the morning by a pair of red kites circling above and a kestrel. My thanks to Martin, David, Paul and Howard.

I hope now to be able to get back to arranging more regular workdays again.

Best wishes

Dick
