Family and Local History Workshop

People with a keen interest in researching the Second World War are being invited to a special workshop next week.

The two-hour talk and workshop is taking place at Central Library on Wednesday, 12 October and will explore how to carry out research using Swindon’s Second World War records.

Julie Davis from the Wiltshire & Swindon History Centre will be on hand between 10am and 12noon to explain what local records from the war are available and how to get the best out of any research.

Information will be available on the Second World War Roll of Honour, giving specific details on local servicemen who gave their life during the conflict and will include a question and answer session to help with individual research.

The event costs £2 for library members and £3 for non-members. Places are limited and anyone interested in attending is asked to book a place in advance by either emailing: central.library@swindon.gov.uk or by calling (01793) 463238.

Alternatively, tickets can be booked in person at Central Library, Regent Circus, Swindon, SN1 1QG.
