The Tennis Club is undergoing improvements to its courts, lighting and security in order to attract new members and bring the facilities into ‘match readiness’ – meaning the Club will be able to play in competitions once again.
Swindon Borough Council recently granted planning permission for the work, after
long deliberations (mainly concerning the lighting, which was deemed to be too high).
The total cost of renovation will be very near £100,000 with the funds provided by a variety of supporters and the Club itself. Work has already started and should be completed by the end of May.
