Thames Water is introducing a hosepipe ban from 22 July
Dear Customer,
We’re getting in touch on behalf of Thames Water, your water wholesaler, to let you know that a hosepipe ban (Temporary Use Ban) will come into effect from Tuesday 22 July in parts of their supply area.
This includes the following postcode areas: OX, GL, SN, RG4, RG8, and RG9.
Due to record temperatures and low rainfall in June, water levels in reservoirs and rivers are now lower than normal for this time of year. With little rain in the forecast, Thames Water is introducing this measure to help protect essential water supplies and avoid risk of further disruption.
If you require additional information or to report any urgent issues, Thames Water’s 24-hour customer helpline is available on 0800 316 9800.
Proactive measures by Thames Water
- Tanker deployments and bottled water deliveries to priority sites
- Increased leakage repairs and water pressure management
- 24/7 teams are working hard to maintain water supplies across the region
How your business can help
To help ensure that water keeps flowing for everyone in your community, we’re asking for your support in using water wisely.
- Review operations to ensure compliance with the hosepipe ban and seek alternatives where possible (e.g. using recycled water or commercial cleaning services)
- Avoid using water during peak hours (typically early morning and late evening)
- Check and repair leaks on your premises
