During the warm weather its tempting to leave car windows open, and doors and windows open at night or when no-one is around. Plus sheds and garages are used more often and locking up can be forgotten.

Each month on the crime stats that Wiltshire Police report, there are a number of burglaries in the area – most of these are from sheds, garages and other outbuildings but nevertheless are upsetting and inconvenient.

Always keep vehicles and buildings secure, especially when there is no-one close by keeping an eye on them or making a noise to deter an opportunist thief.

Maybe consider a new lock for your buildings and maybe an intruder alarm, these are cost effective, need no wires and there are plenty available if you google “shed alarm”.

Example below. (Not a recommendation)

We have also had reported that drones may be used to check what is accessible in people’s gardens before the thieves return later.
