Celebrities from the big and small screen will once again descend on Swindon as the Stars of Time Comic Con returns to STEAM in June.

On Saturday 24th June, fans of Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Marvel, Star Wars and many more will have the opportunity to meet and experience different aspects of their favourite universes.

David Bradley, best known for playing ‘Argus Filch’ in the Harry Potter movie series and ‘Walder Frey’ in Game of Thrones, and Christopher Ryan, known for his role as ‘Mike’ in the 1980s BBC Comedy series The Young Ones, are just some of the special guests scheduled to attend.

For Star Wars fans, Amanda Lawrence best known for her role as ‘Commander D’Acy’ in The Last Jedi and The Rise of the Skywalker will be appearing at the event. Hugh Spight, who played ‘Chief Gammorean Guard’ and ‘Prune Face’ in the epic space-opera franchise will also be attending.

The event will have something for everyone to enjoy, with cosplay, gaming, competitions, photo opportunities, virtual reality experiences and so much more. Visitors will be invited to learn the ways of a Jedi for free at the event. The Sporting Light Saber Combat Academy, LudoSport, will teach different lightsabre tactics and moves.

Harry Burrows, Co-Event Organiser at Stars of Time, said: “We are delighted to be returning to Swindon this summer with more sci-fi magic, following the success of our first event in 2022!

“As well as being able to meet lots of well-known TV and movie personalities, visitors will be able to talk to some of the UK’s most talented artists and creators, including Ben Krefta who has written several ‘how-to’ books on the topic of drawing manga.

“The event will be an ‘out of this world’ experience and we look forward to inviting visitors to immerse themselves in their favourite universes.

“Extraordinary displays will include a Batman Zone, a large Doctor Who Zone, and with the big release of the Dial of Destiny later this year, the event will feature brand-new Indiana Jones props and photo opportunities.

“The guest list continues to grow, with more updates expected to be announced soon!”

Pop-culture fans attending the Comic Con are invited to arrive dressed-up as their favourite TV, film or other fictional character and will be able to enter a free cosplay competition.

Thousands of collectables will be on sale from the UK’s top traders. It’s the perfect time to get your hands on replica props, clothing, original artwork, plus cinema posters and banners from the movies.

Councillor Matty Courtliff, Swindon Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Heritage, Leisure and Town Centre Experience, said: “I’m very pleased to see this event return to Swindon for a second year in a row and it shows the variety of events we can hold at STEAM.

“Last year was an incredible event and I have no doubt this year will be just as good. This year’s line-up is fantastic, once again, and there are even more announcements to come.

“Anyone who wants to go should get their tickets from the STEAM website as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.”

Admission prices are: £17.50 for adults, £13 for children and £49.50 for family tickets (either 2 adults and 2 children, or 1 adult and 3 children). Under threes go free. Tickets include entry to the event, plus admission into STEAM’s award-winning museum displays.
