Cllr Rogers advised the committee that suspending orders would need to be suspended for this item to allow Mr Ian Kearsey to discuss this issue with the committee.

A proposal was made to suspend Standing Orders for item 22/46. The proposal was seconded and all Cllrs were in favour.

Mr Kearsey advised that a resident had updated him on the issue of sanitary products and other flushed items in the stream.

Thames Water (TW) had been called out who lifted a manhole near Strouds Hill and inspected the drain. A storm drain connects to this drain and TW suspect someone has illegally attached their foul water drainage to the storm drain and not the waste pipe drain. Thames Water cannot deal with this issue as they don’t maintain storm drains.
Environmental Health were contacted who tested the water supply and found it met legal requirements but did not check the storm drain.
Assistance is requested to report this to SBC and ensure action is taken over this matter.
The committee agreed this matter would be reported to SBC and a follow up would be placed on the July agenda.
