Following the success of last year’s event, Swindon Borough Council’s Community Health and Wellbeing Team are organising another day of activities for those who will be alone this Christmas.

The event is aimed at the Council’s most isolated clients to give them an opportunity to come together with others during what can be the toughest time of year for many people. This alternative to Christmas Day, which will be held in the week of 11 December at Christ Church Community Centre, will give people the chance to enjoy some festive fun.

The Council’s Community Health and Wellbeing Team are being supported by Zurich Community Trust and local community groups to organise this event. Several generous donations, including food, gifts and decorations, have already been made by members of the community and local businesses. However, the team would still like a real Christmas tree to make this day complete and a kind donation would be greatly appreciated.

After the event, the tree will be donated to Swindon Women’s Aid to share the Christmas spirit with even more local people who may find this time of year particularly difficult. Please contact Charlie Paradise on cparadise@swindon.gov.uk if you would like to donate a tree or for more information.
