Updates to work being done on Junction 16
There have been a number of overnight closures this week to allow the contractor to install drainage and lay pipes. The team are also installing kerbing around the junction as well as preparing areas for upcoming surfacing works. Drainage works are ongoing, with manholes being installed on the south side of the roundabout. You can find out more about the upcoming closures on the Junction 16 webpage.
A new traffic management plan will be in place from Monday, 26th February. Please take some time to plan your journey, particularly taking note of the new lane arrangements on the approach to the roundabout from Swindon, and from the M4 westbound.
Planned overnight closures from 8pm until 6am:
- Friday, 9th February – A3102 Swindon Road northbound only closure and M4 westbound entry slip closure.
- Monday, 12th to Friday, 16th February inclusive – various lane restrictions on the roundabout.
- Monday, 19th February – M4 westbound exit slip closure.
- Tuesday, 20th February – M4 westbound exit slip closure and A3102 Swindon Road southbound only closure. Traffic coming from Hay Lane diverted towards Royal Wootton Bassett and then back.
- Wednesday, 21st February – A3102 Swindon Road southbound only closure. Traffic coming from Hay Lane diverted towards Royal Wootton Bassett and then back.
- Thursday, 22nd February – A3102 Swindon Road southbound only closure. Traffic coming from Hay Lane diverted towards Royal Wootton Bassett and then back.
- Friday, 23rd February – A3102 Swindon Road full closure and M4 westbound entry slip closure.
- Saturday, 24th February – A3102 Swindon Road full closure and M4 westbound entry slip closure.
- Sunday, 25th February – A3102 Swindon Road full closure and M4 westbound entry slip closure.
