Invitation To Important Public Consultation Event

Wiltshire Police is in the process of developing a new Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, which will help us further develop how we deliver our services within the diverse communities in the county.

As part of the process, we are keen to seek the views of the public and other key stakeholders, and in October I am looking to host two public consultation sessions as part of this approach. Accordingly, I have pleasure in inviting you to one of the sessions.

At the events,  you will have the opportunity to hear our proposals and importantly tell us what matters most to you, as an individual, community group or organisation you may represent.

The Strategy describes how Wiltshire Police intends to meet its obligations under the Equality Act 2010 and Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED). It sets out our commitment to promoting equality in line with the principles of equal treatment and equal opportunity. This includes reviewing the Force Equality Objectives to confirm they remain fit for purpose.

There will be an opportunity to discuss your thoughts directly with me and my colleagues who will be driving this strategy forward and an independent advisor Everett Henry we are working with on this project.

The dates for the two engagement sessions are:

Please let us know of any specific needs or accessibility requirements on the online booking form. Refreshments will be served.

More information will be sent to registered delegates nearer the time to brief you ahead of the meetings. The draft Equality Strategy will be available in paper form on the day, or from Wednesday 10th October you can download and print a copy from the Force website www.wiltshire.police.uk and give us your feedback online if you prefer during the formal consultation period, which runs from 10th October to 21st November 2018.

In the meantime, if you wish to speak to someone at Wiltshire Police with regard to this invitation or our diversity and inclusion work in general, please email DS Tamara Campe at edi@wiltshire.pnn.police.uk or call her on 07471 029689.

Alternatively, you can also make direct contact with our independant advisor Everett Henry, Director at CommTAS at Everett.henry@sky.com.

We look forward to seeing you in October.
